BECOMING, a captivating fashion show, unfolded as a vibrant narrative that embraced the essence of creation from a black perspective. The event took center stage at the historic Mainstreet Train Station in Richmond, VA, serving as a focal point for the 2023 Virginia Commonwealth University Homecoming. Against the backdrop of this iconic venue, the runway became a canvas for storytelling through fashion, showcasing the richness of black culture and creativity. This show brought community, a key component to creatives, complete with a Fenty-inspired runway, stomp-and-shake cheerleaders, majorette dancers, voguing, Kappa Alpha Psi, and other intricate performances.
